Automated Standard Application for Payments (ASAP) Resources

Description

The Automated Standard Application for Payments (ASAP) system allows entities receiving federal funds to draw funding securely from pre-authorized accounts established by the agency issuing the payment. This reduces the time spent waiting for grant funds—many recipients get their funding the same or next business day.

Since ASAP is used by many U.S. government agencies, funding recipients can leverage their single ASAP profile to access funds from a range of agencies, which saves them time in creating new accounts and learning new systems.

Entities that are new to ASAP should use the ASAP Enrollment Checklist to guide them through the steps to enroll.

For more information on how to request funds in ASAP, please reference the ASAP user guide

Have questions related to the use of the ASAP system?

  • COPS Office and OJP recipients should contact the OCFO Customer Service Center at [email protected] or 800-458-0786.
  • OVW recipients should contact the OVW Grants Financial Management Division at [email protected] or 888-514-8556.

New To ASAP? Avoid payment delays by enrolling in ASAP as soon as possible after your SAM.gov E-Business Point of Contact (E-Biz POC) receives the invitation. Allow 10 business days for the Department of the Treasury to enable drawdown of funds after verifying that the banking details you submitted are valid.

ASAP Unavailable During Month-End Account Reconciliation All DOJ-related ASAP accounts will be temporarily suspended the last 3 business days of the month (and the last 5 business days of September) to carry out required account reconciliation activities. Recipients that attempt to drawdown in ASAP will receive an “Error 839: No accounts found matching criteria” message and will not be able to request drawdowns during this period.

Training

The Department of the Treasury organizes ASAP webinar trainings on a regular basis. Please refer to the ASAP website or more information on ASAP-related trainings and resources.
