7th Annual Health & Wellness Day Fair
Wednesday November 6, 2024
Thank you everybody who attended our 6th Annual Health and Wellness Day Fair last year!
The purpose of this event is to spread Health and Wellness based on the 8 dimensions of wellbeing: emotional, physical, occupational, social, spiritual, intellectual, environmental, and financial.
The following organizations made our event possible
Aloe Kine Smoothies, Big Island Grindz, the College of Agriculture, Counseling Services, Credit Union Hawaii, College of Agriculture, Forestry and Natural Resources, Daniel K. Inouye College of Pharmacy, Marcy Morales with Doterra, Hui Mālama Ola Nā ‘Ōiwi, Naluhia Floats, Nicoccos, Restorative Massage School, Saladmasters, Starbucks, Sweet Cane Cafe, Thai Smile Food Truck, Tokunaga’s, Vegan Shop.
Rec Well provided free gym bags and towels to the first 50 participants along with complimentary refreshments from the smoothie bike, College of Ag brought free plant starts for the garden, Counseling Services brought their advice and support for students, CU Hawaii had a financial support and a prize wheel to spin, Marcy with Doterra had samples of essential oils to lift moods and health, the registered nutritionist with Hui Mālama brought useful information on proper diet, the team from College of Pharmacy provided a whole host of physical health tests, Naluhia Floats brought great information and generously donated floatation therapy sessions, Nicoccos generously donated gelato gift certificates, Restorative Massage School set up two tables and gave massages to students, Saladmasters provided amazing healthy cake and salads, Sweet Cane Café brought their one of kind sugar cane juice, Togunaga’s made a generous donation of thermoses.
Aloe Kine Smoothies, Big Island Grindz, and Thai Smile Food Truck sold their delicious and healthy foods and drinks.

Spring Validation & Membership is Required (Cost: $78 for the entire Semester).
Reservations or timeslot sign-ups are no longer required for the Gym or Pool.
You must sign up for the Fitness Classes, Outdoor Adventure, Intramurals and ESport Gaming.
Face covering is optional inside of the Student Life Center.
Student Life Center Membership
- IDs are required and must be validated in the Lava Landing room at Campus Center.
- For UH Hilo Students who are taking Online classes with a DCO validation only, the membership fee is required.
- Fall and Spring semester membership is: $78.
- Summer membership is: $35.
- An ID with the DCO and CB (class based) validation does not require the $78 fee. It has been included with tuition and fees.
Faculty/Staff Memberships are available for purchase.
The Student Life Center offers current Hawaiʻi Community College (Hawaiʻi CC) Student Membership.
Alumni memberships are now available. You must sign up in the membership office at the Student Life Center. (For more information: Call (808) 932-7611)
Pool and Gym Usage Guidelines
Locker rentals available now! (Cost: Semester $16, Summer $6, Yearly $32)
Lockers for Day Use Only are available too!! Remove all items and lock daily.
All Showers are open.
Swimmers will not be allowed in the pool if less than 15 minutes prior to closing
If showering after a workout or swimming, please exit the facility upon closing.

Ke Alaloa O Kūkini Program. Start your Journey!
Ke Alaloa O Kūkini, roughly translated is "The Long Pathway of the Swift Runner". By completing the distance of the Kūkini’s path at your UH Hilo Student Life Center not only will you get active and feel good you will also earn a Ke Alaloa O Kūkini t-shirt! Start your path!

We have the following programs to help you on your journey to being the best you!
- The online fitness challenges such as the Ke Alaloa O Kūkini Run series,
- The virtual and in person fitness classes like Yoga, Zumba and more. (No mask required if social distanced)
- Learn activities with our outdoor Zoom info sessions such as which beaches are open, basics of backcountry trails at volcano!
- Thinking about training for a big race or getting in better shape? We have a online classes in health/wellness and where you can train around the island!
- Come in and rent a bike, kayak or paddleboard for social distant Activities
- UH Hilo Campus Recreation and Wellness is a part of Rec Movement. These are virtual fitness classes offered by UH Hilo and over 150 other colleges Campus Recreation Departments across the country. Visit the sign-up page to get more information!
