Nan Wu Hultgren and her husband, Eric Hultgren, both PhDs, have formed strong and beautiful connection with UC Irvine. Nan earned her Doctorate of Philosophy in cellular and molecular biology from UC Irvine in 2018.

MacKenzie Christensen, sociology graduate student, is the recipient of the 2024 Charles A. Lave Paper Prize for her paper, “Tracing the Gender Confidence Gap in Computing: A Cross-National Meta-Analysis of Gender Differences in Self-Assessed Technological Ability.” The honor recognizes the Ph.D. student for work displaying clear creative models and theories.
