Peter is a leading attorney and data protection executive who brings expertise in data strategy, privacy, security and risk management. He has extensive experience advising and participating in for-profit and not-for-profit executive suites and boards of directors.

Peter has served throughout his career as the lead data protection executive at global technology companies. As Oracle’s Chief Privacy Officer (2003-13), Peter developed a comprehensive program encompassing operations, products and M&A. At GE (2013-17), he oversaw privacy operations for 9 divisions.  And at Citrix (2017-23), he was Chief Privacy & Digital Risk Officer and then Chief Security & Trust Officer, with a team of 180 and responsibility for product and system security and cyber incident command. Peter has engaged extensively with cybersecurity agencies and privacy regulators and has advocated with EU and US legislators for balanced data protection regulation.

Peter serves on the Board of Directors of the Future of Privacy Forum.   He was the 2018 Chairman of the Board of the International Association of Privacy Professionals.  Peter also served on the Boston Bar Association Council from 2018-2021 and, from 2018-2023, on the Board of Advisors for TextIQ/Relativity.  Peter has taught privacy law at Boston College Law School, spoken extensively on privacy and security, and been published in The New York Times

Peter and his wife Lori have two children and live in Newton, Massachusetts. He enjoys tennis and photography and serves on the Board of Congregation Kehillath Israel (President: 2024-2026). Peter is a graduate of Yale College (History, magna cum laude) and Harvard Law School.
