Thecacera pennigera, also known as the winged thecacera, is a species of sea slug in the family Polyceridae. It has a cosmopolitan distribution, being found in temperate waters on either side of the North Atlantic Ocean, in the Mediterranean Sea, around South and West Africa, Brazil, Japan, Korea, Pakistan and more recently in Australia and New Zealand. There is a significant difference in colouring between Atlantic populations and Pacific specimens, however. Thecacera pennigera has a typical adult length between 15 millimetres (0.6 in) and 30 millimetres (1.2 in), featuring a short, wide head with two lateral flaps and two sheathed olfactory organs called rhinophores. The body is wedge shaped, being wide at the front and ending in a slender foot with a lateral keel on either side. The general colour of the body is translucent white and the upper side is covered with orange splotches and small black spots. Like other sea slugs, T. pennigera is a hermaphrodite with internal fertilisation and a mating mechanism whereby pairs of animals exchange packets of sperm. Not much to say about me really :) I am in the UK, which is going to naturally affect a few things. My politics are going to be somewhere to the left of the USA and somewhere to the right of Laos. I try not to let that influence anything I do here. I am subject to UK laws which does affect things, I don't really deal with fair use copyright claims, and I don't recognise first amendment claims. These are just examples. I am going to speak funny, spell some words strangely, use idioms you might have to look up, and employ British humour. At the same time, I am familiar with many international experiences and perspectives. I registered this account in 2005, and could write back then, so I am at least that old. I don't possess any pronouns, and yours are probably going to involve the singular they. I am not paid by anyone to edit or perform any other actions. If you receive any request for payment mentioning my username then it's a scam. I don't use this username on any other (non-wikimedia) website.
Notes for other admins
I am currently an admin and checkuser (along with some other stuff). Other admins should feel free to adjust or reverse any admin actions I've made, as long as they understand the basis and consequences, with the following qualifications. I try to be very precise and deliberate in any action I take. I'm working on improving my communication skills, but I don't always make clear what's going on for various reasons. If you don't fully understand what's going on then I'm usually happy to provide as much information as I can, and if required, to refer you in good faith to people you can check with or appeal to.
