Fujifilm and PRONEWS will hold a touch-and-try event for the Fujifilm GFX100 II at the Kanze Noh Theater on Friday, October 20th. The GFX100 II is a medium-format sensor camera (one with a sensor 1.7 times larger than the standard 35mm format). The camera’s video filming capabilities have been highly lauded, and this event has been designed to show off the capabilities with Japanese traditional Noh theater.

This event consists of two distinct programs. Program A, “New Product Announcement Talk Session,” is a program where guests can enjoy presentations that introduce the new features and appeal of the GFX100 II, as well as sessions between developers and creators. Program B is where guests can experience filming a Noh performance using the new GFX100 II.

Applications for participation are elective, but however, it is possible to apply for two programs at the same time. Participation is free, guests must apply in advance. PRONEWS set up a lottery system that will be used. We expect a large number of applicants. Guests visiting Japan from overseas are also invited to attend, but please note the program will be conducted in Japanese.

The Kanze Noh Theater was rented out and the stage hall and lobby will be fully utilized. There is also a hands-on demonstration corner, that includes Noh demonstrations and explanations, a talk session with Saburo Kanze, a young master of the Kanze school, an exhibition of GFX100 II’s cinema shooting style, and an exhibition by an accessory manufacturer. This is a unique event where guests can experience the charm of medium format mirrorless cameras.
