MyDSC for Instructors

New and Improved MyDSC Portal 

The Disability Services Center (DSC) has released a new and improved MyDSC instructor and student portal. Please familiarize yourself with the layout and features of the new portal.  Detailed instructions on navigating the new portal are available on MyDSC for Faculty. 

Course instructors can use the MyDSC portal to: 
 

  • Read and acknowledge student letters of accommodation from the DSC. 
  • Review student reservations to take in-person exams at the DSC. 
  • Provide instructions on administering your exams and upload exam files. 
  • View and download completed exams. 

Accommodation Letters 

Course instructors will receive an email notification when a student elects to share their DSC-approved accommodation letter with you. To view the accommodation letters of students enrolled in your fall quarter courses, log into MyDSC and complete the following steps: 
 

  • Select Accommodation Letters from the left-side menu. 
  • Search for a specific letter or scroll down to view your most recent letters. 
  • View the desired letter. Each letter will be tailored to the specific student and therefore slightly different, so please read carefully. 
     

Testing at DSC 

If you want the DSC to administer your exams for students with approved accommodations, you will use the MyDSC Portal to review a student’s exam booking, provide your exam instructions, upload a copy of your exam, and download the completed exam. 

Review a Student’s Exam Booking 

The DSC requires students to schedule their exams in advance. Students use their MyDSC account to submit a request including the date, time, and length of time for each exam. After a student’s exam booking is approved by DSC staff, you will receive an email notification. 

  • Log into the MyDSC Portal to review the exam details that the student entered and notify the DSC of any necessary revisions. 
  • To find the exam booking, use the Courses option on the left-side menu and select the appropriate course. 
  • Select Alternative Test Room Bookings from the top menu to view the list of all exam bookings associated with that course. 
  • Contact DSC testing staff at dsctesting@uci.edu if any corrections are needed to the date, start time, or standard length of time for the exam. 

Provide Exam Instructions and Upload Exam 

The DSC staff rely on course instructors to provide detailed information on how to administer their exams. 

  • From the Courses menu, select the appropriate course. 
  • Select Exam from the top menu and select Add New Exam. 
  • Complete the form fields to provide the DSC with your instructions for how to administer your exam, how to contact you with any questions that arise during the exam, and how to return the completed exam. We do encourage instructors to utilize the MyDSC Portal for exam acquisition and exam return.  
  • Upload a copy of the exam file directly on this form. 

View and Download the Completed Exam  

The DSC staff will scan and upload the completed exam for instructors to pick up in the MyDSC Portal. Please allow up to three business days for the completed exam. The DSC does encourage the use of MyDSC Portal for exam return, however, instructors may choose to pick up the hard copy exam from the DSC office instead of receiving the scanned copy via the MyDSC Portal. 

  • From the Courses menu, select the appropriate course. 
  • Select Alternative Test Room Bookings from the top menu. 
  • Do not click on the student’s name. On the bottom line of the student’s test booking appointment, click on Completed Exams: [Exam File Name] to download the file.
