A Framework for Spatial Interaction in Locative Media

This paper presents the concepts and techniques used in afamily of location based multimedia works. The paper hasthree main sections: 1.) to describe the architecture of anaudio-visual hardware/software framework we havedeveloped for the realization of a series of locative mediaartworks, 2.) to discuss the theoretical and conceptualunderpinnings motivating the design of the technicalframework, and 3.) to elicit from this, fundamental issuesand questions that can be generalized and applicable to thegrowing practice of locative media.
