Continuous care and population health benefits can be optimized when providers can have a comprehensive view of a patient's health record through seamless health information exchange. Various patient matching techniques have emerged to facilitate accurate patient identification. In this paper, we present a review of existing patient matching techniques, analyzed based on accuracy, cost and execution time.
