Abstract

The aim of the introduction of an advanced hospital information system at the Innsbruck University Hospital is mainly to support the care process and to improve quality and efficiency of care. These requirements entail changes in the clinical processes and many obstacles with respect to the organization have to be considered. The article gives an overview of the goals, organization and problems of the introduction which is still in the planning phase.
