Abstract
This paper introduces a chipless Radio Frequency Identification tag to be used for oil and gas pipelines monitoring applications. The proposed tag uses multiple E-shaped resonators to introduce multiple notches in the operation band, giving any required number of bits in the spectrum signature. Two cross-polarized semi-circular patches with partial grounds are used as the tag antennas. The proof of the concept is done using vector network analyzer measurements with two implemented Vivaldi antennas as transmitter (Tx) and receiver (Rx). The experimental data match will with the expected results.
