Abstract

To chain routing in the single-channel condition, the performance of wireless Ad Hoc networks will drops sharply along with the increasing routing hops. A novel multi-interface multi-channel OLSR (MIMC-OLSR) protocol is presented based on joint routing and channel assignment in this paper. Moreover, a distributed joint chain-type routing and channel assignment algorithm is given to achieve channel assignment for linear chain wireless Ad Hoc networks. The MIMC-plugin is implemented on OLSRd by adopting MIMC-OLSR protocol, and MIMC-OLSR protocol is evaluated by using a wireless testbed. The testing results show that the MIMC-OLSR protocol has better performance according to throughput, packet loss rate, end-to-end delay and delay jitter.
