Abstract
Often-encountered Problems in the risk assessment of plants are associated with the lack of incomplete data of dose-respond relations to selected air pollutants. Data are either not available, or not directly applicable, or they do not exist. An expert systems prototype is described as a decision-support system for the environmental impact assessment in order to facilitate the applicability of dose-respond relations for cases in which they do not match the environmental properties of the site under discussion.
The Implementation of the rule-base expert system SO2XPS for the assessment of SO2 emissions on plants is described. SO2XPS is an expert system implemented in an IBM microcomputer environment using the expert system shell INSIGHT 2+.
