Abstract
In this paper, we propose a new chaotic substitution based image encryption algorithm. Our approach combines the merits of chaos, substitution boxes, APA-transformation and random Latin square to design a cryptographically effective and strong encryption algorithm. The chaotic Logistic map is incorporated to choose one of thousand S-boxes as well as row and column of selected S-box. A keyed Latin square is generated using a 256-bit external key. The selected S-box value is transformed through APA- transformation which is utilized along with Latin square to substitute the pixels of image in cipher block chaining mode. Round operations are applied to fetch high security in final encrypted content. The performance investigations through statistical results demonstrate the consistency and effectiveness of proposed algorithm.
