Abstract
Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) are formed with small tiny nodes which are sometime densely deployed in open and unprotected environment. In many applications particularly in the military applications WSNs are of interest to adversaries and they are susceptible to different types of attack. Though preventive measures are applied to protect against attacks but some attacks cannot be prevented using known preventive measure. Preventing the intruder from causing damage to the network, the intrusion detection system (IDS) can acquire information related to the attack techniques and helps to develop a preventing system. In this paper we propose an intelligent IDS algorithm and we also simulate our algorithm in castellia simulator. Our simulation results show different scenarios such as the attack period Vs packet dropped and attack period vs packet received. We have seen that under attack our IDS potentially improve the performance of the network in both cases.
