Abstract
A new slot configuration for a compact Planar Inverted-F Antenna is presented. The proposed structure enables a size reduction up to 25%, as compared to the standard PIFA design. A parametric analysis of the design parameters is presented to characterize the behavior of slotted PIFA, and a T-shaped ground plane technique is adopted to enhance the operation bandwidth in the ISM-band (2.4–2.5 GHz), thus being useful candidate for wearable applications.
