The Great Barrier Reef is the largest coral reef system on earth. It is the only living thing visible from space. It is like a city under the sea. About 1,500 kinds of fish and other small animals live there. Dolphins, sea turtles, and whales swim nearby. The world's largest group of dugongs also lives around the reef. More than two million tourists come to see the Great Barrier Reef every year. Two of the most popular things to do are scuba diving and snorkeling. Through these activities, tourists can enjoy their visit to the reef.
