I'm no history buff and it's kind of a tough one to answer but let me try. Here goes. It was Japan's ambition to create its own empire back in the heyday of imperialism. No other imperialistic nations so blatantly ... Well, it's too hard to answer. I can only assume that the former colonialists in the region, like the Nederlanders, still harbor resentment toward Japan. I guess younger generations should learn more about history, like Ikegami Akira says. Happy New Year!
