Adaptation is Key

Climate change is a global issue that is affecting us at the regional level. With changing climatic conditions like hotter and drier summers, wetter winters, and more intensive storms, comes the increased likelihood of impacts felt throughout the region, including prolonged heat waves, wildfires, droughts, and flooding.

However, we can take a proactive approach to prepare our region for a bright future. The Cowichan Valley Regional District (CVRD) and Climate Adaptation Partners have developed a Board approved Climate Adaptation Strategy which includes local solutions to help us prepare.

Cowichan Adapts is about putting plans into action. Together, we can adapt.

How will climate change affect me?

Climate change is affecting us at the regional level. The people that live and work in the CVRD are experiencing the impacts of climate change now as part of their everyday lives.
