Cowichan lake is blessed with many natural wonders. Listed below are some of the wonderful outdoor adventures that you can have in this area.
Big trees, not stumps. This park is at least a 2.5 hour drive from Lake Cowichan on logging roads. These logging roads are often in poor condition, so be sure to use an appropriate vehicle to navigate them. There is no cell service for most of the drive so prepare appropriately.

How to drive on a logging road.
The national recreation trail. The western-most terminus of the Trans-Canada Trail is located in Lake Cowichan. Two trails lead east from the terminus, one to Duncan (27 km), which then heads north to Nanaimo, and one to Shawnigan Lake (40 km), which then heads south to Victoria.
A scenic walk with rare flowers located in the community of Honeymoon Bay. There is a large population of pink fawn lilies at this reserve, which draws visitors to the area every mid-to-late April to early May.
