Package: wnpp
Version: N/A; reported 2006-02-23
Severity: normal
I've not used nas in quite a while, and due to other commitments I'm
not going to have too much time for it in the near future.
More background:
* the nas source package builds several binary packages
* currently 5 open bugs
* upstream are a delight to work with, and are especially responsive
to accepting Debian patches; the current diff from upstream is
_tiny_
Hence, I feel this package would be ideal for a new maintainer to help
out with - I'd be happy to do some mentoring, work through some bugs
with another person and sponsor uploads where necessary.

Hello,
I have just seen that you have stated that the nas package depends on klog.
Why are you stating that dependency?
KLog is software for ham radio amateurs and does not need sound.
Check the KLog home page at: http://jaime.robles.nu/klog
I think you can delete the klog dependency.

Hi,
Just a ping to check if more help is needed on the package (I do not
intend to maintain it)

Hi Thomas,
Apologies for the long delay before responding... :-(
Yes, I'm still looking for help with nas if you'd like to get involved.

Hi Steve,
I am looking to become a Debian Maintainer and interested in all
things musical.
I have never used NAS before, but I will install it, play around, try
and build it, and work through the bugs for a while if that is okay.
Sing out if you want to point me at something.
Regards,
Ross

Sorry for the silence Steve, but I have been a little busy the last
two months.
I did try installing the current version of NAS (never used it
before), but I failed to get it working. I read the documentation
(actually I think it lacks a little tutorial to help first timers!).
Once things calm down with my other Debian work I will come back to NAS.
