两河古文明的研究，在我国称为“巴比伦学”，国外却往往称为“亚述学”。这本书语言繁琐，不好翻译，校对也费了一大番功夫，但为了书中的内容是值得的。另外，两河风格在二十世纪前半叶流行一时，电影《党同伐异》是其巅峰，但票房大败，相对于埃及学，它太曲高和寡了。
