Here she remained, except for a few visits to London, until in May 1817 she moved to Winchester to be near her doctor. There she died on July 18, 1817. As a girl Jane Austen wrote stories, including burlesques of popular romances. Her works were only published after much revision, four novels being published in her lifetime. These are Sense and Sensibility (1811), Pride and Prejudice (1813), Mansfield Park (1814) and Emma(1816). Two other novels, Northanger Abbey and Persuasion, were published posthumously in 1818 with a biographical notice by her brother, Henry Austen, the first formal announcement of her authorship. Persuasion was written in a race against failing health in 1815-16. She also left two earlier compositions, a short epistolary novel, Lady Susan, and an unfinished novel, The Watsons. At the time of her death, she was working on a new novel, Sanditon, a fragmentary draft of which survives.

英语是有点进步… 书本身来说其实还挺有趣的，就是Chapter 50之后写的很聪明了，尤其是Eliza和Darcy最后互诉衷肠那一幕 前面写的相当有趣，尤其是Austen那种面对谁都看不惯的样子

2025第一本书以傲慢与偏见打头是我的荣幸！名著就是名著，随着成长变化还是可以重读，并且引发不同的思考。小时候读的是灰姑娘嫁入豪门的故事，现在读观察的是不同的人面对同样情况的不同反应。简和伊丽莎白的对比有意思极了，正好对应现实中两种人，也是常见的友谊配置。但这本书的人都不像是受过创伤的正常样子，处事清爽不纠缠，遇到情伤不发疯，惹人羡慕。
