If you have read my another article Scrum framework,you know that there are three types people in a scrum team.They are scrum master,product owner and developers.They have their own responsibility in the team.The most important is the scrum master.He push the team forward in the company.And he know the guide of scrum well.He is responsible for fostering a scrum environment.
In a scrum team,we are going to sprint to the product goal in two or four weeks.
At the beginning of (next)sprint,our product owner who is represent for stakeholders will sort out the demand before the sprint planning meeting.The product owner is a person.Scrum master guide product owner how to do such things effectively.
In the end,They will get a product backlog in which the items are in sort of priority.The items in the product backlog are called user stories.
The first day of a sprint is used for a sprint planning meeting.The product owner is going go tell us about the details of selected stories.If we want to change the stories ,we can convince our product owner.In general,the product owner will illustrate the value of the sprint.In fact,we rarely have this link.Because our requirement is clear,which has discussed in the top layer of the company.
The product owner ends stories telling.Scrum team will select out the stories as our Sprint Backlog together. And we will divide each story into several tasks,such as front end,back end tasks.
And we will evaluate the completion time of each task in task pool.
In order to get the exact time of completion time,we play pokers to figure out what exact time it needs.Each poker has a number.For example,all front end developers give a time for a front end task using the pokers.That’s how the backstage estimates.
They show out their pokers to everyone,the scrum master will make a statistic and give chances to the player to explain why.
Why is the given time,if the task was performed by him/her.And then They will be asked to play again,till they have consent on the same time.The time will be final.All the task in sprint backlog have their own completion time,and the planning meeting is over.
The second day,which is the beginning of daily scrum,they will get together in the same place and time ,which are agreed,to have a daily scrum.The developers will choose the task for themselves,The number of task which are suggested is one or two.Because taking too much will affect efficiency.The daily scrum should be control within 15 minutes.The daily scrum helps improve the transparency of the information,It can help reduce the complexity of the sprint,and reduce much meetings which are considered unnecessary.Scrum master and product owner can inspect the situation of sprint.If it is unacceptable,we can adjust them in time.Daily scrum will last until the next day of last day of sprint.
From the third day,we will get together in the same place at the same time to share the information of sprint,which includes what was done yesterday,what problem came across and what is going to do.
In the last day of the sprint.we will have a Sprint Review meeting.Ｗe will check and accept the products or services one by one,according the definition of done of the selected stories in the sprint backlog.We can show our products or services.
Then we will have another meeting called Sprint Retrospective.The meeting will be easier.we can talk freely.The purpose of the meeting is a chance for our scrum team to grow.We will review the sprint which is just finished.Find out What we did well and what we didn’t do well.So we can adjust these things in the next sprint.
As you can see,All the activities in a scrum team implement the theory of scrum,transparency,inspection,adaption.So it is simple,but efficient ,right?In order to keep information about the sprint backlog ,we need to communicate a lot ,Daily scrum is the stage.Our developers are responsible for turning the selected stories into value increment.Each member of the scrum team should be self-managing with scrum values(Commitment, Focus, Openness, Respect, and Courage).And the scrum team become an efficient team.
Keep in mind,Product Backlog is used to implemented our product goal,Sprint Backlog is what we need to focus on,because it is our sprint goal.Whatever you do ,you should promise that your increment is value.
