请按照下面步骤尝试在esxi上虚拟esxi主机上的虚拟机(以下为内部资料,可能会仍然无法启动虚拟机)

You can run an ESX virtual machine under Workstation 6.5 or greater. To do this:

Warning: This is not to be disclosed to any customer.
1.Build a virtual machine with 2 virtual CPUs, 2GB of memory, a 20GB SCSI disk, and at least 1 ethernet port. Remove the floppy and sound card. For the guest operating system, select Other Linux 64bit.

Note: These specifications are for creating an ESX 4.0 virtual machine. Earlier versions of ESX may not need as much memory, nor would they have to be 64bit.

2.When this virtual machine has been generated, edit the .vmx file and make the following changes:

a.Make any entry starting with ethernetX.virtualDev read ethernetX.virtualdev = "e1000", where X is replaced by a number.
b.Add this to the bottom of the file:

monitor_control.restrict_backdoor = TRUE
monitor_control.vt32 = TRUE
monitor.virtual_exec = "hardware"

Note: You likely need only the first two lines or the last line, not all three.

3.Save and close the file.
4.Connect an ESX ISO p_w_picpath to the virtual CD/DVD ROM drive and begin the installation.

Notes:

If this works, you are able to create virtual machines but you are not able to start them.

You may be able to start a virtual machine if you edit the .vmx file for the ESX virtual machine and add vmx.allowNested = "TRUE".

Using an ESX virtual machine under Workstation may result in undesirable behaviour.

Allowing one virtual machine to run under another virtual machine can lead to severe decreases in performance and host instability.

This process may also be used to install and run other VMware software inside of virtual machines that are normally prevented from installing to anything other than a physical operating system.

OpenSuSE 11 Usage Note:

It has been reported that an ESX virtual machine is unable to ping out of an OpenSuSE 11 Host unless /dev/vmnet1 is changed FROM: crw------- 1 root root TO: crw-rw---- '1 UserID' root . This change should give the vmnet1 user priviledges necessary to ping out by utilizing promiscuous mode.
