The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Incorporated (IEEE) is a non-profit corporation, incorporated in the state of New York on 16 March 1896.

The purpose of the IEEE is to engage exclusively in scientific and educational activities within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended, directed toward the advancement of the theory and practice of electrical, electronics, communications and computer engineering, as well as computer science, the allied branches of engineering and the related arts and sciences, which benefit the engineering profession and the public.

As authorized by the IEEE Board of Directors, the IEEE Member and Geographic Activities Board (known as IEEE Regional Activities Board prior to 1 January 2008) approved the establishment and boundaries of the IEEE MP Section in 2021. The Madhya Pradesh Section conducts activities which assist the local IEEE members to enhance their professional careers and their communities.

The Madhya Pradesh Section is located in Region 10, and is represented at the India Council. The Section was formed on 21 June 2021. Prior to that, Madhya Pradesh had been a sub-section under the IEEE Bombay Section.

IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) is a global network of IEEE members and volunteers dedicated to promoting women engineers and scientists, and inspiring girls around the world to follow their academic interests in a career in engineering and science.

IEEE WIE International Leadership Summit (ILS) is an annual program under the IEEE Women in Engineering, one of the largest communities that strives towards overcoming the problem of under representation of women in the fields of science, engineering and technology.

IEEE WIE ILS was started back in 2015 in Chennai with the theme ‘Beyond Yourself – Leveraging your Strengths and Breaking Barriers’. The summit gained attention of the global community and saw more than 200 participants in attendance. Since then, IEEE WIE ILS established itself as a platform for women to realize their true potential and excel in their fields of choice. Since 2015, numerous such summits have been organized every year across the globe.

IEEE WIE ILS is renowned for its extensive networking and collaborative opportunities, as well as mentorship to women who wish to further their education or take up a new career path. IEEE Women in Engineering International Leadership Summits (WIE ILS) provide regional opportunities to foster networking, mentorship, and collaboration. With the leadership and creativity of volunteers, WIE will continue the WIE ILS program in 2020 as part of the portfolio of global initiatives that focus on Empowerment, Entrepreneurship, Leadership, and Emerging/Future Technology.

Chhattisgarh

Chhattisgarh is a central Indian state formed on November 1, 2000. Its capital is Raipur, and it shares borders with Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Telangana, Odisha, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh. The state is known for its rich mineral resources, forests, and rivers like Mahanadi, Indravati, and Narmada. Chhattisgarh has a diverse population with vibrant tribal culture and festivals. Agriculture, industry, and tourism are significant contributors to its economy. Popular tourist destinations include Bastar, Chitrakote Falls, and Sirpur. The state follows a parliamentary system of governance, with a Chief Minister and a Governor representing the President of India. Chhattisgarh is known for its natural beauty, cultural heritage, and historical significance.

Raipur the capital of the State of Chattisgarh is one of the fast developing cities of India. Its also the administrative headquarters of Raipur district. Formerly a part of Madhya Pradesh, it became the capital of Chhattisgarh when this new state was formed on 1 November 2000. According to the 2011 Census, the population within the Municipal Corporation area of Raipur was 1,010,087. Raipur is the biggest city of the region and a fast developing center not just in terms of industry but tourism too. Raipur has its own railway station and airport connecting all major cities of India. It is also accessible by road through the National Highway.

Raipur is an important location from archeological and historical point of view. Raipur dates back to ancient times when it was a part of southern Koshala. After that it became part of Mauryan Empire. Raipur used to be the capital of the Kalchuri kings belonging to Haihaya Dynasty that for long held controlled the traditional forts of the Chhattisgarh . The town of Raipur has been in existence since 9th century AD. It was founded by the Kalchuri king Ram Chandra of Raipur in the last quarter of the 14th century AD. The Bhosle kings ruled here for a brief period before the land was passed on to the hands of the British. After independence it was included in Central Provinces and Berar. When Chhattisgarh came into existence, Raipur became its capital. One can explore the old site and ruins of the fort in the southern part of the city. For More Click Here
