First, the authors analyse the properties and the topics of government posts to draw a rich picture of how local governments use the micro-blog as a communications channel to interact with the public. Second, the authors conceptualize the government online interactivity in terms of the breadth and depth. Third, the authors identify factors that will enhance the interactivity from two aspects: structural features and content features. Lastly, the authors offer suggestions to local governments on how to strengthen the e-government interactivity in social media.<\/jats:p><\/jats:sec>","DOI":"10.1108\/oir-03-2015-0084","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2016,2,9]],"date-time":"2016-02-09T09:40:18Z","timestamp":1455010818000},"page":"79-96","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":41,"title":["How to strengthen the social media interactivity of e-government"],"prefix":"10.1108","volume":"40","author":[{"given":"xiaoling","family":"Hao","sequence":"first","affiliation":[]},{"given":"Daqing","family":"Zheng","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[]},{"given":"Qingfeng","family":"Zeng","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[]},{"given":"Weiguo","family":"Fan","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[]}],"member":"140","reference":[{"key":"key2020121821394322000_b1","doi-asserted-by":"crossref","unstructured":"Abbasi, A. , Chen, H. and Salem, A.
