As partially ordered sets are one of the most prevalent and fundamental objects in Mathematics and are ubiquitous in nature, physics, engineering and technology in general, and since any system amenable to mathematical analysis can be represented as a partially ordered set, the discovery is proposed as an explanation for the phenomena of emergence and self\u2010organization in dynamical systems. \u00a9 2011Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
