BASE HTTP Interface
BASE (Bielefeld Academic Search Engine) harvests metadata of academic web resources (mainly repositories and journals) via OAI-PMH. It is based on the open source search engine software Lucene/SOLR. Currently more than 10,000 content providers and more than 300 million documents are covered in BASE and grouped into different collections. The data structure related to the index structure is based on Dublin Core with several extensions.
You can integrate the BASE index into your own local infrastructure (for example meta search engines, library catalogues). For the realisation we provide a HTTP interface. A manual is available for download:

Before you can start testing and using the interface, your IP address needs to be whitelisted first. To get access, please contact us via this form. Please specify your use case and an IP or IP range from which you need to access the API (show my IP address). You will get an email notification as soon as your IPs have been whitelisted. This might take some time.
