MinebeaMitsumi Beefs up Grit With New Cambodia Line

MinebeaMitsumi Inc.  has held a groundbreaking ceremony for the MinebeaMitsumi Cambodia Pursat Plant in Krakor District, Pursat Province, Kingdom of Cambodia.

MinebeaMitsumi expanded business in Cambodia’s Phnom Penh Special Economic Zone (PPSEZ) in 2010. Accordingly, it is the country’s first manufacturer of precision electronic components.

The company established a plant in PPSEZ in December 2011 and continued to expand. Thus, producing a wide range of MinebeaMitsumi products, including bearings and small motors.

Since its establishment, MinebeaMitsumi’s Cambodia plant has been working to contribute to the local community by creating employment opportunities. Therefore, improving the living environment of employees, and human resource development through the manufacture of a variety of electronic components. MinebeaMitsumi will utilize solar power generation in the new plant, which will start operating in January 2026. Moreover, the company plans to achieve renewable energy by using electricity generated in-house to meet the entire amount of electricity needed by our plants in Cambodia.

Fully Automated, Carbon Neutral Plant

The company has decided to construct its Pursat plant in Cambodia with the aim of preparing for expansion in products such as PMC Precision Mechanical Assemblies. The market of which are likely to grow along with its business expansion. The plant will not only be carbon-neutral, but will also utilize our vertically-integrated production system. Moreover, it will employ automated equipment in cooperation with its Phnom Penh plant.

“We will apply our best manufacturing practices in the Pursat plant, which will guide the growth of Precision Technologies Business Headquarters moving forward. We are planning to commence the partial operation during the fiscal year ending March 2026.”

Accordingly, about 700 people, led by H.E. Mr. Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister, First Vice Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia, attended the event. Moreover, H.E. Mr. Keo Rottanak, Minister, Ministry of Mines and Energy of Cambodia, Mr. Kensuke Nagase, Embassy of Japan in Cambodia etc.
H.E. Mr. Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister, First Vice Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia said, “The MinebeaMitsumi’s second factory in Cambodia reflects their successful business in Cambodia. Specifically, since they came Cambodia 14 years ago.” “It will be a good model to attract other foreign investors to consider investment for Cambodia.”

Major Production Base

Meanwhile, Yoshihisa Kainuma, Representative Director Chairman, CEO of MinebeaMitsumi commented, “Since MinebeaMitsumi first expanded into the Kingdom of Cambodia. We have continued to grow together with Cambodia for the past 14 years. We are very happy and proud to be able to develop new business activities in Pursat. Moreover, we view this as a cornerstone for the further development of Cambodia and Minebeamitsumi.”

In addition, Kainum said, “In Cambodia, we are also going to start our in-house solar power generation business. We plan to use clean energy to cover all the electricity used in our production processes at our Phnom Penh factory and Pursat factory. We hope to develop this new plant in Pursat into a major production base for our precision mechanical components.”

MinebeaMitsumi will continue to grow as the one and only comprehensive precision components manufacturer. Thus, contributing to the prosperous development of international society by creating new value and components that are indispensable to society.
