La Bajada : New Mexico
＜＜＜La Bajada＞＞＞
I-25 の EXIT 264 を降りて I-16 を 3.5 mile 程行くと、1926 年 ～ 1932 年までの古い道が残っている。
右へ曲がってしばらく行くと、左手には La Bajada の村があり、ジグザグの険しい La Bajada Mesa へといく。
＜＜La Bajada Hill＞＞
この道は、元々は El Camino Real, もしくは内陸部への Royal Road として約 400 年もの間使われてきた道で、
アメリカでのヨーロッパ風の highway としてはもっとも古い道。
Old Route 66 の中の難所の一つで、急なジグザグのせまい坂道を 500 feet ( 約 150 ｍ )も昇り降りしなければならなかった。
