2012年1月1日から6月30日の間にリリースされたアルバムおよびEPで、自分が購入(CD/デジタル問わず)またはレンタルした作品が対象です。11位から20位まで(＋12枚)はこちらの記事をご覧ください。

洋楽をより深く楽しみために、やっぱり歌詞の意味はちゃんと知りたいな…と日頃から考えてはいるけど、どうしてもいろいろな都合で輸入盤を買ってしまうんですよね。それで、英語の勉強のためにも今後気になったものは自分で歌詞和訳をやっていこうと思い立ちました。一応英文学科卒なのですが読解力も語彙力もないので、誤訳はご容赦ください。

今回取り上げたのは、2012年上半期ベストアルバムでも選出したSokoの「I Thought I Was An Alien」から「Destruction of The Disgusting Ugly Hate」です。実は上半期ベストトラックでも上位に入るこの曲を聴いているとき、ふと「You have tattoos everywhere / But my name is not there」という歌詞が心に突き刺さり、歌詞の意味が気になりました。

(*1)「バーニング・マン」…アメリカのブラックロック砂漠で8月末から9月頭にかけて行われるアート・イベント。イベントの象徴であるバーニング・マン像を燃やす。

【訳詞感想】
burningmanのくだりが難しかったです。アメリカのイベントのことを言ってるのかも知れないけど、Sokoはフランス人なのでアメリカのイベントを持ち出すのは不自然。かといって、誰か私の心を燃え上がらせてくれるような新しい男性が現れてくれたら…という心情の歌詞でもないので、結局のところこの部分はよくわからないです。それ以外は比較的簡単だったのですが。

今度はちゃんと2012年の上半期にリリースされた作品からの選考です(2012年にリリースされたものを除いた上半期ベストはこちら)。今回は20位から11までと、惜しくも漏れたけど良作だった12枚(半端な数ですが、どうしてもこれ以上絞れなかったのです…)。2012年1月1日から6月30日の間にリリースされたアルバムおよびEPで、自分が購入(CD/デジタル問わず)またはレンタルした作品が対象です。

全作品ともに一番好きな曲の試聴付きなので、お時間の許す限りぜひ試聴してみてください！基本的に全部メロディアスだと思います。

先日行ったIRJ(いんでぃー・ろっく・じょし)48ですが、予想以上の大きな反響をいただきました。結果は最終的に以下の通りとなりました。

7月になって、上半期ベストアルバム発表のシーズンですね。というわけで、当ブログでも上位20作品を発表したいと思います！

ただし、今年リリースの作品は除きます(ズコーッ)。

すいません、それはまた今度ということで(※ただいま選考中：汗)、今回は昨年までにリリースされた旧譜の中で、2012年の上半期に自分が初めて聴いたアルバムの中から選びました。ちなみに、上半期リリース作品よりもこっちの方が全体的によくない？とか思っています。
