Web Services Policy Attachment for Endpoint Reference  (WS-PAEPR) Submission request to W3C

We, W3C Member(s) Axway, BEA Systems, Inc., JBoss Inc., Nokia, Oracle, and Progress Software Corporation hereby submit to the W3C Consortium the following specification, comprising the following document(s) attached hereto:

  1. Web Services Policy Attachment for Endpoint Reference (WS-PAEPR)

which is referred to as "the Submission". We request the Submission be known as the WS-PAEPR Submission.

Abstract

The WS-Addressing recommendation defines a mechanism for associating metadata with an Endpoint Reference. This metadata can be used to define the the behavior, policies and capabilities of the endpoint. This specification defines the semantics of including Policies and Policy References as defined by WS-Policy-Framework within the metadata property of an Endpoint Reference.

Axway

Axway hereby grants to the W3C a perpetual, nonexclusive, royalty-free, world-wide right and license under any Axway copyrights on this contribution, to copy, publish and distribute the contribution under the W3C document licenses.

Additionally, should the Submission be used as a contribution towards a W3C Activity, Axway grants a right and license of the same scope to any derivative works prepared by the W3C and based on, or incorporating all or part of, the contribution. Axway further agrees that any derivative works of this contribution prepared by the W3C shall be solely owned by the W3C.

BEA Systems, Inc.

BEA Systems, Inc. hereby grants to the W3C a perpetual, nonexclusive, royalty-free, world-wide right and license under any  BEA Systems, Inc. copyrights on this contribution, to copy, publish and distribute the contribution under the W3C document licenses.

Additionally, should the Submission be used as a contribution towards a W3C Activity,  BEA Systems, Inc. grants a right and license of the same scope to any derivative works prepared by the W3C and based on, or incorporating all or part of, the contribution.  BEA Systems, Inc. further agrees that any derivative works of this contribution prepared by the W3C shall be solely owned by the W3C.

JBoss Inc.

JBoss hereby grants to the W3C a perpetual, nonexclusive, royalty-free, world-wide right and license under any JBoss copyrights on this contribution, to copy, publish and distribute the contribution under the W3C document licenses.

Additionally, should the Submission be used as a contribution towards a W3C Activity, JBoss grants a right and license of the same scope to any derivative works prepared by the W3C and based on, or incorporating all or part of, the contribution. JBoss further agrees that any derivative works of this contribution prepared by the W3C shall be solely owned by the W3C.

Nokia

Nokia hereby grants to the W3C a perpetual, nonexclusive, royalty-free, world-wide right and license under any Nokia copyrights on this contribution, to copy, publish and distribute the contribution under the W3C document licenses.

Additionally, should the Submission be used as a contribution towards a W3C Activity, Nokia grants a right and license of the same scope to any derivative works prepared by the W3C and based on, or incorporating all or part of, the contribution. Nokia further agrees that any derivative works of this contribution prepared by the W3C shall be solely owned by the W3C.

Oracle

Oracle hereby grants to the W3C a perpetual, nonexclusive, royalty-free, world-wide right and license under any BEA copyrights on this contribution, to copy, publish and distribute the contribution under the W3C document licenses.

Additionally, should the Submission be used as a contribution towards a W3C Activity, Oracle grants a right and license of the same scope to any derivative works prepared by the W3C and based on, or incorporating all or part of, the contribution. Oracle further agrees that any derivative works of this contribution prepared by the W3C shall be solely owned by the W3C.

Progress Software Corporation

Progress Software Corporation hereby grants to the W3C a perpetual, nonexclusive, royalty-free, world-wide right and license under any  Progress Software Corporation copyrights on this contribution, to copy, publish and distribute the contribution under the W3C document licenses.

Additionally, should the Submission be used as a contribution towards a W3C Activity,  Progress Software Corporation grants a right and license of the same scope to any derivative works prepared by the W3C and based on, or incorporating all or part of, the contribution.  Progress Software Corporation further agrees that any derivative works of this contribution prepared by the W3C shall be solely owned by the W3C.

The organization I represent on the W3C Advisory Committee agrees to offer licenses according to the W3C Royalty-Free licensing requirements described in section 5 of the 5 February 2004 W3C Patent Policy for any portion of the Submission that is subsequently incorporated in a W3C Recommendation.

BEA Systems, Inc.

The organization I represent on the W3C Advisory Committee agrees to offer licenses according to the W3C Royalty-Free licensing requirements described in section 5 of the 5 February 2004 W3C Patent Policy for any portion of the Submission that is subsequently incorporated in a W3C Recommendation.

JBoss Inc.

The organization I represent on the W3C Advisory Committee agrees to offer licenses according to the W3C Royalty-Free licensing requirements described in section 5 of the 5 February 2004 W3C Patent Policy for any portion of the Submission that is subsequently incorporated in a W3C Recommendation.

Nokia

The organization I represent on the W3C Advisory Committee agrees to offer licenses according to the W3C Royalty-Free licensing requirements described in section 5 of the 5 February 2004 W3C Patent Policy for any portion of the Submission that is subsequently incorporated in a W3C Recommendation.

Oracle

The organization I represent on the W3C Advisory Committee agrees to offer licenses according to the W3C Royalty-Free licensing requirements described in section 5 of the 5 February 2004 W3C Patent Policy for any portion of the Submission that is subsequently incorporated in a W3C Recommendation.

Progress Software Corporation

The organization I represent on the W3C Advisory Committee agrees to offer licenses according to the W3C Royalty-Free licensing requirements described in section 5 of the 5 February 2004 W3C Patent Policy for any portion of the Submission that is subsequently incorporated in a W3C Recommendation.

Suggested action

We suggest that the Consortium make this submission available for consideration by members or other third parties. We suggest that the W3C refer this submission to the WS-Addressing WG and WS-Policy WG for further processing, preferably as a W3C Recommendation.
