The Government of Japan is a close strategic partner of OCHA. With common understandings of the importance of humanitarian assistance, and OCHA’s role in coordinating international assistance activities, humanitarian assistance is recognized as a key pillar of Japanese foreign policy. Japan has made consistent financial contributions to OCHA and humanitarian funds operated by OCHA, which helps us strengthen the international humanitarian system.
