If you can't get enough of your baseball stats, but you're farther away from an Internet connection than a Barry Bonds homer, Major League Baseball has an answer.

MLB Advanced Media, the interactive media arm of Major League Baseball, is now providing up-to-the-minute scores of games, winning and losing pitchers, and overall standings over most wireless devices. Palms, Internet-enabled cell phones, and Research In Motion pagers are among the devices that fans can use.

"Baseball fans are the most dynamic and hungry fans in the world. Wireless is another platform to deploy the information that these fans are starving for," says Joe Choti, chief technology officer of Major League Baseball. Wireless devices can access Scores on the Go at mobile.mlb.com , where an iConverse interface gives the devices access to MLB.com's Internet infrastructure, according to Choti.

MLB intends to expand the service to include directions to ballparks, ticket sales, player stats, auctions, and even weather reports. Access to MLB.com is free.

What's next? Wirelessly viewing the Crimes Against Hair while you wait for a re-formed Poison to take the stage? Vent; it's good for you.
